Lawsuit to stop the 10% cuts
On Thursday, July 3, at 1:30PM the case Independent Living Center of Southern California, et.al. v. Shewry was heard in Sacramento Superior Court.
Touro sent two representatives: the sitting CSHP-Touro President, along with a third-year student member Amar who was on rotations at the time. The University of the Pacific was the only other school to send a contingent of students.
The state judge ended-up denying the eight retail pharmacies’ motion to stop the ten percent Medi-Cal provider cuts. The pharmacies sought a temporary restraining order (TRO) from Sacramento Superior Court against the California Department of Health Care Services and its director Sandra Shewry to block the cuts from being implemented.
